DPF removal and DPF delete:

A DPF warning, or a plain engine light with DPF fault codes, may indicate that the filter is restricting the exhaust. A diagnostic scan should confirm this before any work is done. We do not recommend removing a DPF unless there are clear indications of a DPF blockage or DPF-related DTC faults.

The usual DPF options:

A new DPF is often way out of reach for most people financially. Forced regeneration may work, but needing it may be a sign that the DPF is close to the end of its life. Forced regeneration is not cheap, so repeating it every few weeks is not financially viable. DPF cleaning is, in most cases, temporary and rarely guaranteed. Clearing codes or resetting soot counters alone does not fix a blocked filter, do not fall for this. A used DPF is a guess; its condition cannot be trusted.

Our DPF solution:

The solution we recommend is a complete DPF removal and DPF delete in Johannesburg. That is a two-part job. The filter core is removed from the housing so the exhaust can flow. The DPF function is then deleted from the ECU so the vehicle stops regenerating, measuring soot and logging DPF faults.

One part on its own is not enough. Software only, with the filter left in the exhaust, leaves a blockage in place and can damage the turbo. Physical removal only, with no software, leaves the ECU watching the DPF, so the lights and limp mode come back.

Pricing starts from R4500 and includes both parts. On most models, EGR delete is included with DPF delete at no additional cost.

EGR delete and EGR removal:

EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) feeds exhaust gas back into the engine to lower emissions. On a diesel it also sends soot into the intake and the oil, builds carbon, and can cost you a little efficiency and response.

EGR delete is the software. We rewrite the ECU so it stops controlling and monitoring the EGR valve, the circuits and the flow, and so EGR-related DTC faults and limp mode do not return. On most models, EGR delete is included with DPF delete at no additional cost.

EGR removal is the physical work. We also offer EGR blank-off, EGR cooler bypass or, where possible, complete removal of the EGR, at an additional cost.

Software only is enough on many vehicles. If the valve or cooler is already failed, stuck or leaking, the hardware should be blanked, bypassed or removed as well, otherwise the mechanical fault is still there.

EGR delete from R999. Physical blank-off, bypass or removal is priced on inspection.

AdBlue delete:

AdBlue (DEF) is injected into the exhaust as part of the SCR system to lower NOx. The tank, pump, dosing injector, NOx sensors and the AdBlue control unit are expensive to replace in South Africa. A single NOx sensor can cost around R15,000. When the system fails, the vehicle can lose power, limit remaining range, or refuse to start.

AdBlue delete is the software. We rewrite the ECU so it stops monitoring and controlling the AdBlue system. AdBlue-related warnings, functions, DTC faults and limp mode are switched off, and the vehicle no longer needs AdBlue in the tank. On Mercedes-Benz models this is the same job as a BlueTEC delete.

AdBlue delete is not a refill, a sensor reset or a cleared code. If the system is already in fault, those steps do not fix it.

Additional options:

We also offer DTC delete, swirl-flap delete, throttle-valve delete and speed-limit removal on most makes and models in Johannesburg.

DPF Removal vs DPF Delete...
What is the difference between a DPF Delete & DPF Remove?

DPF Remove is the part where the actual diesel particle filter is removed from the exhaust system.

DPF Delete is the part where the DPF function is deleted on the software of the vehicle’s engine control unit or ECU. So, in other words, the software is modified...

What is a fair price to pay for a complete DPF removal solution?

As with most products or services, you will get too cheap and on the other side stupidly expensive.

EGR Removal & Price...
In most modern diesel engines, in order to remove or blank off the EGR, the software on the Engine Control Unit (ECU) needs to be modified to delete the EGR function, the related fault codes and limp mode / safe mode. We can delete the EGR function from the software on the ECU on most models starting from R999.00...

Mercedes BlueTEC Delete...
BlueTEC is Mercedes-Benz’s name for the SCR system that uses AdBlue. AdBlue (DEF) is injected into the exhaust after the engine to lower NOx. On a Mercedes it is controlled by its own AdBlue module as well as the engine ECU. The tank, pump, dosing injector, heater, quality sensor and NOx sensors all have to work together. If one part fails, the car warns you, limits remaining range, drops into limp mode, or, on later models, refuses to start...
